Add Item

To add a Dragnet Item click Add from the Item Tracking menu sidebar. You must have Modify permission to the current project to add an item.

Enter the information for the Item in the Add Item form. Click Submit to update the information and go to the Item Details page.

Click Cancel to return to the main Item Tracking page. The new item will not be added.

The fields available on the Add Item form are:

   Description – Type a short description of the new item. This is a required field.

   Type – The type list contains all of the Types for Dragnet Items. Select the Type for the new Item. The default value selected is Bug.

   Priority – The Priority List contains all of the Priority values for Dragnet Items. Select a Priority for the new Item. The default value is Unknown.

   Assignee – The Assignee list contains all the active users who have at least read permission for the current project. Assign a user to the item. The default value is (none).

   Milestone – The Milestone list contains all the active milestones for the current project. Select a Milestone for the new Item.The default value is (none).

   Category – The Category list contains the categories for the current project. If you assign the Item a category, that item will automatically be assigned to the owner of that category unless a user is specifically selected in the Assignee drop down list. The default value selected for Category is (none).

   Time Estimate– The Time Estimate list contains all of the Time Estimate values for Dragnet Items. Select a Time Estimate for the new Item. The default value is Unknown.

   Use HTML in details – Check the Use HTML in details option if you want to enter HTML markup in the items detail field. By default, this is unchecked.

   Details – A more detailed description of the item. This field can contain HTML markup and Link Notation  to other Dragnet Items.

   Version – Enter the Version number of the item.

   Platform – The Platform List contains all of the Plaform values. Select the Platform for the item. The default is Unknown.

   <Custom 1> and <Custom 2> – These are an optional text fields. The name of the field can be configured by a System Admin in the Customs Fields section of the Database page.

   Attach File – Type the path to a file you want to attach to this item. You can also click on Browse to open a file browser and select the file to be added.

   Attachment Description – Type a short description of the attachment.

The item will automatically be assigned a status of Open when added. If the item addition is successful, the Item Details page for the new item will be displayed.
