Windows Client Components
The Project Tree tree contains a list of all features available for the user through the SOS Collab Windows Client, categorized by project. This bar can be docked or floated on different areas of the screen, and resized or closed. Users see only those Projects and Admin functions for which they have rights.
The lower pane displays messages about changes made to bugs and source code. The Notification Bar logs both SOS Collab system events and specific Source Code Control file and project operations. Notification Bar messages may have links to specific bugs or discussion messages.
The user sees only messages about projects to which the user has access. Messages regarding Source Code Control file and project events are seen only by the user who invokes the SCC commands, while other SOS Collab events are seen by all users who have access rights to those projects for which the messages are generated.
The SOS Collab Windows Client has a standard Windows toolbar. When the user is working online, the toolbar changes depending on which feature in the Working Area is active.
The horizontal area at the bottom of the client window provides information about the current state of what the user is viewing in the working window. There is also an online/offline indicator in the far right side of the Status Bar. During lengthy operations, a progress indicator appears on the the Status Bar, just to the left of the online/offline indicator.
The Working Area shows standard views for Source Code Control and Chat, or HTML/DHTML view windows for the Bug Tracking, At-A-Glance, Discussions and Administration.
SOS Collab Windows' features like Chat, Discussion Groups, At-A-Glance and Project Preferences share many of the same menu options. Several of these are standard Windows menu options which are familiar to users. Menus are context-sensitive, depending on the view in the working area.
(Please Note: SOS Collab Source Code Control offers its own menu options. Refer to the Source Code Control section for more information.)
