Set Up Serial Numbers

This function is available only to System Admins.

When SOS Collab is installed, it generates a temporary serial number for 10 full Client licenses. The demo serial number should be replaced by a permanent serial number after purchase.

When a user logs in to SOS Collab for the first time, the user takes up a license for a particular class. For instance, if a user logs in with the Web Client, they take up a Web license. A user accessing SOS Collab with a Windows Client will take up both a Windows and Web client license. This is because the Windows Client has web-enabled functions. If no licenses are available, the user will not be able to log on. Currently, the full Client license provides Window and Web access.

Serial Numbers may be configured by the System Admin from the Serial Numbers and Licenses page of the Web Client or the Serial Numbers tab of the SOS Collab Server Manager.

The Server Manager is located in the SOS Collab Servers directory on the SOS Collab Servers machine. The Serial Numbers tab displays the Serial Number and Description.
