Notifications

Vault Pro Notifications provide notifications of updates to your source control repository and work item projects.

Notifications keep you informed of real-time changes made by your team without having to leave your development environment. When Notifications are enabled, they will appear in the Notifications tab at the bottom of the Vault Professional GUI Client.

Notifications are also available in Visual Studio if you are using Enhanced Client Integration. The Notifications Pane can be enabled in Visual Studio under View->Vault Professional->Notifications.

You can also choose to be notified by email or email digest if there are changes to the contents of the tree or to work items.

You can enable and configure Notification Options in the Vault Professional Client under Tools->Options->Notifications.

Application Notifications are real-time notifications that appear in the Notifications tab while you are logged into Vault with the Vault GUI Client or Visual Studio. Application notifications for events which occur while you were logged off will not be retrieved by the client in a later session.

Email notifications are sent by the Vault Server whether you are logged in to Vault Professional or not.

Latent Notifications. You may still continue to get notifications for a short time after unsubscribing to Application Notifications. These notifications would be for events which took place before you unsubscribed, but were scheduled for later delivery. Email notifications stop immediately after you unsubscribe to Email Notifications.
