Viewing a Discussion Message

To view the contents of a message, click on its subject line from either the Discussion Topics, Discussion Messages or At-A-Glance page. This will display the Open Message page listing the message details.

Open Message Page

The Open Message page displays:

• A header with the author of the message and the time it was posted on the system
• A header with the subject line of the opened message
• The discussion ID number, which can be used to identify the discussion message in Link Notation.
  
• An area with the text body of the opened message
• A Thread header followed by a list of all replies in date order with the earliest reply at the top and the latest (most recent) listed at the bottom

From the Open Message page, you can choose to reply to the open message or return to the list of all discussion topics

To reply to the open message, click the Reply button near the top of the page. This will display a Reply to Topic page.

To return to the list of all discussion topics, click the Msg List button near the top of the page. This will display the Discussion Topics page.

Viewing a Reply

To read replies to a topic, click on one of the reply subject lines.

The screen now shows the open reply message at the top of the screen. Below in the reply list, the subject of the open reply is bolded in black.

When viewing a reply, you can also:

• Post a reply directly to that reply rather than to the initial topic by clicking the Reply button near the top of the page.
• Choose to return to the Discussion Topics List by selecting the Msg List button near the top of the page.
• Click on links to specific bugs or other discussion messages within the text of the message.
