Add UsersTo access the Users page, click the Users link from the Administrator menu sidebar.
The Users page lists all users for Dragnet. This page is available to Admin users and members of the Admin group.
The Users List contains the following columns:
▪ Login – The Login name for the user
▪ Full Name – The user’s full name
▪ Email address – The User’s email address. Click the address link to open an email client.
▪ Active – Active status of the user
▪ Modify – Click the modify icon to open the Modify User page for the selected User.
Users muct be added to Dragnet and given security access to projects or added to groups.You can give the user security access to projects or add them to specific groups with security access to projects. A user can be assigned to any number of groups within any number of projects
You must be an Admin or a member of the Admin Group to add and modify users.
To add a user to Dragnet, click the Add button on the Users page. Type the full name, login, password and email address in the correct box for the new user. Choose the user’s Authentication type and assign the user to groups.
Click Submit to add the user. Click Cancel to return to the User page. No one will be added.
Select a Authentication Type in the drop down box. The list will be one of four possible authentication types and is configured on the Setup page for SourceCode Control.
The possible authentication types are:
▪ Dragnet: The user will use the login name and password configured in Dragnet to connect to Dragnet. The user will authenticate against the Dragnet server. This is the default.
▪ Vault:. The user will use the Vault login name and password to connect to Dragnet. Vault must be configured as the SourceCode Control Provider and the URL for the Vault Server must be configured on the Setup page. The user will authenticate against the Vault server.
▪ SourceOffSite: The user will use the SourceOffSite login name and password to connect to Dragnet. SourceOffSite must be configured as the SourceCode Control Provider and the SourceOffSite Server location must be configured on the Setup page. The user will authenticate against the SourceOffSite server.
▪ Active Directory: The user will authenticate against Active Directory. An Active Directory domain must be configured on the Setup page to use Active Directory authentication.
Assigning the user to groups is optional. By default, new groups do not have any security rights. Security can be configures on a project Security page.
In the Assign User to Groups area, the list on the left contains all the groups that are not assigned to the user. The list on the right contains the names of the groups the user is assigned to. The group names are in alphabetical order by project name then group name.
▪ Click > to assign the user to the selected group or groups.
▪ Click >> to assign the user to all the groups.
▪ Click << to remove the user from all the groups.
▪ Click < to remove the user the selected group or groups.
To modify a user click the Modify icon of the selected user on the Users page. You can change the full name, login name, email address, authentication type, password, and active status and groups.
Changing a User’s password
To change a user’s password, click the Change Password button. Enter the new password and retype the password. Click Submit at the bottom of the page. The password will be changed after the page is submitted. Submitting the form will change the password as long as the password fields are visible.
Click Cancel Change Password to close the password box. The password will remain the same.
Active Status
Only active users can log on to Dragnet. Users are active by default.
Users can be marked inactive by unchecking the active checkbox on the Modify User form. Deactivating a user will free up that user’s license.
Inactive users will not appear in the Assginee drop down lists on the Add and Modify item pages.
