OnTime has multiple work item types. Vault Professional integrates only within Defects.
OnTime integration with Vault Professional refers to the ability to update defects from within the Vault Professional client, and for OnTime item tracking system to link to the changes in source code which fixed the defect.
A Vault Pro Change Set consists of modified files and other pending transactions for the repository. A changeset can be associated with defects in the OnTime defect tracking system.
From the Vault Pro Pending Change Set pane, you can checkin code and associate the source code with OnTime defects in a commit operation.
To select repository items for your changeset, click the Vault button in the Pending Change Set context bar. Check the checkboxes next to the repository items you wish to commit, or click the Check all changeset items command on the Pending Change Set toolbar to select all items.
Use the Uncheck all changeset items command to uncheck all the items in the Pending Change Set.
To select OnTime defects to commit with the changeset, click the OnTime logo in the context bar. Check the checkboxes next to the defects you wish to associate with the Vault Pro changeset.
After you have selected repository items and defects to commit, click the Commit command in the Pending Change Set pane.
The Commit dialog has context buttons for Vault pending changes and OnTime pending defects.
Click on the Vault Change Set button to view pending repository items.
To view associated OnTime defects, click the OnTime button.
The Commit dialog provides a toolbar with options for checkin.

Removes the file from your working folder after the commit.
Select a file in the changeset and click Diff to diff the working folder version with the repository version.
The Check All command checks all items in the changeset.
The Uncheck All command unchecks all items in the changeset.
The Display Tree View command presents the changeset in a tree view.
The Display as List View command presents the changeset in a list view.
The Associated OnTime Defects view displays a list selected defects, plus OnTime commands.
The Stamp OnTime Item(s) Command adds a history stamp to the content of a Defect. The stamp adds a line with Edit by {UserName} on {date}to the description field of the Defect
The Choose Additional OnTime Items command displays a list of OnTime Defects to add to the Change Set Defects list.
Select an item in the Defects list, then click the Delete button to remove it from the Defects list. This command does not remove the item from OnTime defect tracking.
Comments can be added in the Change Set Comment field of the Commit dialog. Change set comments will appear in the Comments column in the Vault Pro History Query results for a file or folder version.
Click on the OnTime logo for the OnTime view. OnTime content in the Pending Change Set includes Projects, Releases, Customers, Users and Defects.
