Configuring Axosoft OnTime Defect Tracking Integration

Vault Professional provides access to OnTime defects within the standalone Vault Professional client. Integration is available only in the Vault Professional GUI Client,

Vault integration will require installation and configuration of the Axosoft OnTime SDK. See Axosoft documentation regarding this component.

You will need the URL to your OnTime server and a Security Token.

Contact your OnTime administrator to obtain a security token. The security token is a GUID generated by your OnTime administrator. The security token is configured in the OnTime web.config file and a copy is used in the Vault Professional Client for OnTime integration. See OnTime SDK documentation for details on the security token.

AxoSoft OnTime integration options are stored in the Vault Professional Server database. You must configure OnTime Options for each Vault Pro Server or repository that your Vault Pro Client connects to.

Enable OnTime Integration

To enable OnTime integration, first log into the Vault Professional Server with the Vault Professional Client. Once you are connected to a repository, select Tools->Options->Integration Components->Axosoft OnTime.

Check Enable Axosoft OnTime Integration.

OnTime URL

The OnTime URL contains the host name where your OnTime server resides followed by the path to the virtual directory where the OnTime SDK is installed. The default is “OnTime2009Sdk.”

Example:

http://myontimeserver.domain.com/OnTime2009Sdk

Login ID

Enter your OnTime login ID and password.

Security Token

Enter the Security Token provided by your OnTime Administrator.

Test Connection

The Test Connection button tests the connection between the Vault Professional Client and the OnTime server.

If the connection is successful, you will receive a “Test Completed Successfully” message.

If the connection is not successful, you have the option to test the OnTime webservice. If successful, the UserProjectHandler web page opens with a list of operations supported.

If your Vault Professional client can connect to the OnTime web service, but you cannot login, there may be a problem with the user authentication. Contact your OnTime administrator for assistance with authentication.

Advanced Settings

The names of the OnTime Web services are listed in Advanced Settings. These should not be modified unless the OnTime webservices are in a location that is different from the default Ontime2009Sdk virtual directory.

If your Vault Professional client can connect to the OnTime web service, but you cannot login, there may be a problem with the user authentication. Contact your OnTime administrator for assistance with authentication.

Proxy

Proxy Options include: Use the Vault Connection Proxy Settings or Do not use a proxy.

Vault connection proxy settings can be configured in the Vault Professional Client under Tools->Options->Network Settings.
