The Activate License dialog box allows you to activate the licenses. This can be done either automatically, by connecting to SourceGear’s activation server, or manually, by sending an email to SourceGear’s sales department for processing.
When Auto-Activate is clicked, Vault will send the serial numbers to the License Activation Server.
The License Activation Server will return a valid license key or, if there is a problem, an error message with an explanation. The license key that is returned is put into the database and used to determine license information going forward. If there is already a license key in the database, it will be replaced with the new license key.
To manually get the license key, click the link in the text to generate an email with the request automatically filled in. The email will be sent to SourceGear Sales Department which will generate a license key and return it via email.
Once you have the license key, click Import Activation Key and copy the license key into the dialog box.
