Delete Files/Projects

There are two levels of deletion in SOS Collab Source Code Control: Delete and Destroy. The Delete command is recoverable as the files will still exist within SourceSafe. When the Destroy Permanently option is selected from the Delete dialog, the files are unrecoverable as they are removed from the SourceSafe database freeing up disk space.

To delete files or projects in SOS Collab Source Code Control, select the files or projects from the Project List or File List to be removed. Then, click the Delete button or choose the Delete command from either the File menu or by right-clicking.

If the Destroy Permanently option is selected in the Delete dialog, the selected files will be unrecoverable. If the Destroy Permanently option is not selected, clicking the OK button will remove files from the file list but not delete the files from the SourceSafe database.

If a file is shared across two projects, the Delete and Destroy Permanently commands will only remove the file from within the currently selected project.
